Tracing Archival Memory In Bihar Museum Biennale

Film footage, photographs and artefacts from the day gone by take the audience on a journey of memory- an indelible past.

Archival memory helps us to grow and learn. So, the efforts of the powers that be to sanitise history can only be fought through Museums. Founded in 2008, Apartheid Museum in South Africa talks about the days of racial segregation, its emergence and decline. Film footage, photographs and artefacts from the day gone by take the audience on a journey of memory- an indelible past. Outlook India in collaboration with Bihar Museum looks at all those innovative Museums that evoke memories to shape the future discourse.

The Delhi event will also become a museological space for an evening to look at everyday objects from Bihar from a not-so-distant past and their relationship with memory and culture and inclusive representation of various identities and crafts.

In a unique collaboration with Bihar Museum, the Outlook Group brings a series of panel discussions on museums, their roles, and their evolution as part of the Bihar Museum Biennale’s second edition - as the second of such discussions take place on 24th June at Bikaner House, New Delhi.
