Palak Tiwari On Not Exploring TV Before Bollywood Debut: My Mother Did Everything That Had To Be Done

Palak Tiwari, daughter of Shweta Tiwari, said even if she had explored TV, there would have been "inevitable comparisons" with her mother.

Palak Tiwari, who is gearing to make her big screen debut in Salman Khan’s action-comedy ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, is the daughter of Shweta Tiwari, one of the most popular faces on TV. Palak, who says the medium has given her family everything, recently mentioned how she would never “dare say” anything about the medium if it has even the slightest negative connotation.

Palak, who had previously been an assistant director in Salman Khan’s ‘Antim’, was recently asked if she chose films over TV as the medium hasn’t evolved much. To which Palak told ETimes that it was not the case. “I would never dare to say anything about television that has a negative connotation because where I’m in life today or whatever I have achieved today be it my house or my car or money for my education all has been given to us by TV,” she said.

She further mentioned how she didn’t explore TV because her mother did “everything that had to be done” and if she had done so, there would have been “inevitable comparisons” with her. “So I thought I might as well do something new instead of doing something that she has already done and excelled at,” Palak said.

‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ also stars Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal and Siddharth Nigam, and is scheduled to release on April 21.
