In the ongoing case of firing outside actor Salman Khan’s house, Mumbai Crime Branch has now nabbed the fifth accused from Rajasthan. Identified as Mohammad Chaudhary, the accused reportedly helped the two shooters, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, in carrying out the firing incident at Galaxy Apartments on Sunday, April 14, as reported by news agency ANI.

As per the Mumbai Crime Branch, Chaudhary is now being brought to Mumbai today, on Tuesday, and will be produced in the court. Moreover, a demand for custody will be made as well.

Amid the ongoing investigation into the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s house, the latest arrest would unravel more details to the attack. 

For the unversed, the attack at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments house in Bandra area took place on April 14, when two assailants on a bike opened fire. They fired two shots towards Khan's apartment before fleeing the scene. The two shooters were later apprehended by the police, and were found to have connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. 

Following the incident, four people – Anuj Thapan, Sonu Bishnoi, alleged shooters Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta –  were nabbed by the police. Thapan and Sonu Bishnoi (32) were arrested from Fazilka in Punjab on April 26. The two were believed to have supplied weapons for the shooting at Salman Khan's residence.

With Anuj Thapan's arrest on April 26, a breakthrough into the network responsible for providing weapons for the attack was made possible. However, on May 1, Anuj Thapan committed suicide by allegedly hanging himself in the toilet inside police commissioner's office compound in Mumbai. He was rushed to state-run Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital, but was declared dead. His family has now moved the Bombay High Court seeking a CBI probe into his death, and his mother, Rita Devi, alleged foul play.
