Not so long ago in Kashmir, an aut-hor had submitted the manuscript of his book with a matter-of-fact title, Kas-h-mir: Political Dispute to a local publisher. From that day onwards, he would visit the pub-lisher every week to enquire about the date of publication. After all, he had to plan for the book’s release and was hoping for an early booking at a local hotel. He was keen to have many people and as many local intellectuals present at the event as possible. Then, on August 5, 2019, the government abrogated Article 370 amid a communication blockade, military siege and the arrest of thousands.
