In a press statement on Monday, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi voiced strong disapproval of the Karnataka Government's prolonged delay in lifting the hijab ban, particularly noting the seven months that have passed since the Congress party assumed power. Owaisi, addressing reporters, expressed disappointment in the lack of decisive action despite assurances from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, as reported by PTI.?

The AIMIM chief questioned the reasoning behind the delay, pointing out that the Chief Minister initially stated that individuals can wear whatever they want, only to retract the statement within an hour, claiming that a decision was yet to be made. Owaisi remarked, "It is very unfortunate. The Muslims of Karnataka are feeling let down."

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah clarified on Saturday that the administration was contemplating the removal of the hijab ban in educational institutions, with a decision pending after discussions at the government level.

Owaisi also took a strong stance on the recent deaths of three civilians in Kashmir, demanding immediate action against officials allegedly involved in their deaths. The civilians were found dead under suspicious circumstances near the site of a terrorist ambush on Army vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. Owaisi emphasized that compensation and other measures were inadequate and called for the swift arrest of those responsible for the deaths.

The AIMIM President highlighted the victims' affiliation with the Gujjar Bakarwals community, known for standing against Pakistani terrorists and supporting the Indian Army.

In a broader context, Owaisi took a dig at the NDA government at the Centre, questioning the effectiveness of its claims regarding decreased terrorism in Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370. He raised concerns about the recent terrorist attack that resulted in the death of four Indian Army personnel, challenging the government's narrative on improved security in the region.
