Congress Leadership Reviews Chhattisgarh And Madhya Pradesh Poll Performance

Congress leadership, led by Mallikarjun Kharge, conducts in-depth assessments of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh assembly poll outcomes, strategizing for future elections amid discussions on public connection and organizational strengthening.

The Congress leadership engaged in a thorough evaluation of its performance in the Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh assembly polls during separate meetings held on Friday. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge orchestrated the review session at the All India Congress Committee headquarters in Delhi, where former party chief Rahul Gandhi and other prominent leaders were present, as reported by PTI.

The review meeting specifically focused on the Chhattisgarh election results, with Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal revealing that state Congress chiefs were directed to furnish booth-wise reports on the party's performance. Venugopal emphasized the party's commitment to fortifying its connection with the public and presenting a unified front in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to challenge the BJP government.

AICC General Secretary in-charge for Chhattisgarh, Kumari Selja, acknowledged the unexpected final results but asserted that the party had not lost its vote share. Despite the disappointment, Selja expressed confidence in the Congress's ability to perform better in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, citing sustained public trust.

In the Madhya Pradesh review meeting, AICC general secretary in-charge Randeep Surjewala, PCC president Kamal Nath, former chief minister Digvijaya Singh, and AICC screening committee head Jitendra Singh were among the prominent leaders present. Surjewala disclosed that leaders openly discussed the reasons for the party's defeat, authorizing Congress president Kharge to decide on strengthening the organization.

While acknowledging the disappointing results, Surjewala thanked the voters of Madhya Pradesh and pledged the party's continued commitment to serving as guardians of people's rights in the state.
