A strokeful knock of 70 runs from 88 balls from skipper Ben Stokes helped England post a respectable first innings total of 246 all on Day 1 of the first Test against India in Hyderabad. But how the innings was wrapped up, the fall of Stokes' wicket, gave fans one big talking point -- a beauty of a delivery from India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. Stokes came to the fore early in the match. He won the toss and opted to bat first at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. England, expectedly, started on a brisk note. But the innings unravelled soon enough as Indian bowlers started to weave their web of spin.

The visiting captain was summoned in the 33rd over with his team struggling at 121/4. Even as Stokes was starting to rebuild the innings, it became 137/6 in the 43rd. The 32-year-old held firm and reached his 31st Test fifty with a six off Ravindra Jadeja in the 61st over. Displaying his destructive power, the left-handed batter hit another and continued to bat in that fashion. In the 64th over, he lofted Ravichandran Ashwin for his third six.

Then in the 65th over, Stokes came face to face with Bumrah. An outside and four to third man off the first ball. A dot, then the England captain surrendered, hardly playing a shot as the length ball beat the outside edge and crashed into the middle stump. Stokes could only acknowledge. Watch it here:

It was Bumrah's 18th ball to Stokes in the innings. The Indian bowler conceded 10 runs in those deliveries to get the big wicket.

India replied strongly. At the close of play, the hosts were 119/1 in 23 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill on 76 off 70 and 14 off 43, respectively, in an unbroken second-wicket stand of 39.
