Earlier this week, a pre-release event for Dhanush’s upcoming movie, ‘Captain Miller,’ was organized at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The film is set to release soon, and the makers have dropped the trailer. Dhanush excels in every frame and the anticipation for this film has only exceeded.

The 2:54 minute-long trailer shows that the film is set in the pre-independence British Raj era. The opening dialogue reveals that Dhanush is seen as a dacoit by the Britishers. But for the Indians, he is fighting for the greater good. The village has a treasure that the locals aim to safeguard. But the British have set their eyes on it. As the trailer progresses, a British official says that they will begin mining soon. You can connect the dots and figure out that the treasure is possibly, coal. Dhanush features in some mind-blowing action sequences, and he shines through and through.

Watch the trailer of ‘Captain Miller’ here.

Dhanush plays the role of Eesa, a local rebel, who is pulling out all stops to avoid his village being colonized by the British. As the trailer progresses, you see that at one point even he was a part of the British Army. He was called Captain Miller. The trailer is filled with gunshots, shooting, and bombing, and it looks like a war is ready to be fought. The trailer has done a good job of showing things from the perspective of the villagers without stereotyping them.

The villagers have been shown as self-reliant and having an agency of their own. This works because they are not reduced to mere illiterate individuals who are swayed by anything. The trailer looks promising. Dhanush has performed well in the fight sequences, and you can see his swagger dripping in every shot.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, ‘Captain Miller’ stars Dhanush, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shivaraj Kumar, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Vinayakan, and Sandeep Kishan in important roles. The film is set to release in theatres on January 12.
