Abhay Deol is gearing up for the release of Netflix’s upcoming limited series titled ‘Trial By Fire’, which also stars Rajshri Deshpande, Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla, and Shardul Bharadwaj. It is all set to release on January 13 on Netflix.

The series revolves around the unfortunate Uphaar Cinema tragedy, which took place in June 1997 and saw the loss of 59 victims and 100 injured film-goers after a fire broke out. The trailer of the series has now been unveiled and it features Abhay and Rajshri fighting against the system to get justice. It chronicles how the two, who lose their children in the tragedy, take on powerful forces for over two decades in a hard-hitting journey.?

‘Trial By Fire’ is inspired by the bestseller book, "Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy" by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy. The series is produced by Endemol Shine India and House of Talkies.
It is helmed by Prashant Nair, who has called Neelam and Shekhar as “inspiring examples”. He had said, “What happened to them and the way they have been forced to fight for justice is truly horrific and, unfortunately, there are countless other people today in similar situations. We are grateful to Netflix for being such courageous partners in telling this story.”
