Amid Facing Trolls, 'Heeramandi' Star Taha Shah Badussha Reveals He Attended Cannes 2024 'To Make Contacts'
Taha Shah Badussha made his debut appearance at Cannes Film Festival on May 17.
Meanwhile, some netizens raised questions about his presence at the festival. A report even suggested that he was ‘seen hovering uncertainly’ on the red carpet and allegedly signalled to ‘a photographer to click him.’ However, in a recent interview with News18, the actor addressed the criticism and acknowledged having made connections at the festival.
“I went to Cannes to launch my film and to make contacts. So many people from America and Canada looked at me and said, ‘This guy is the star of ‘Heeramandi’ but he’s acting like a newcomer’. I literally went around giving my card to people asking them to be in touch with me and watch ‘Heeramandi,’” said the self-confessed hustler.
The ‘Taj: Divided By Blood’ actor further expressed that while it might not be necessary, he remains optimistic about encountering ‘one golden person’ who could potentially change his life, further adding, “Out of the 500-600 people I met in Cannes and got the numbers of, I need one person to believe in me. I’ll keep hustling. I’ll keep building relationships and putting in my hundred percent.”
In addition to this, he addressed discussions around his presence at the French Riviera last week. In response, he mentioned his limited time for social media, explaining that while he doesn’t actively browse, he’s part of several groups where he receives updates regularly. He continued, “Nobody said these things about me earlier. I did some jugaad and went to IFFI last year but nobody spoke about it. What about that? What about the time when I had nothing [going on for me]?”
As for the rest, the actor remains unbothered and believes that people are here to talk, so let them do just that.
