IPL 2023: Actors Share Their Takes On The Popular Cricket Tournament
As we prep for the beginning of the Indian Premiere League (IPL), here’s what celebrities have to say about the popular cricket tournament.
As we prepare for the grandest IPL season ever, here’s what some of your favourite celebrities are expecting from this cricket tournament. Take a look at what they’ve to say:
I don't know if I can call myself a fan of the IPL. But yes, we like to watch it, especially my kids. They love watching IPL and they're Mumbai Indian supporters, very naturally because they were born and brought up in Mumbai. They don't miss any Mumbai Indian matches. The original format will always be the test matches and the one-day internationals but I guess just the way everything has evolved in the field of entertainment like from feature films we have come down to web series and short films now,?I think T20 has also become very famous and popular.
I love cricket but I'm not a big fan of IPL. I am more fond of the original formats of cricket, one-day or test matches, it's fun to watch them. Pre IPL the excitement was real as there were gaps between tournaments.

For me, IPL is like the biggest time-pass reality show that I maybe watch over the weekend. But I've stopped taking it seriously. I don't support any particular team but I like watching certain players. Test cricket is the purest form of cricket and I still follow it closely whenever possible.

Cricket is really adored by Indians. It has always held a special place in our hearts and serves as a bridge that unites the whole country. I believe that cricket fever will stay around forever. The Indian cricket squad is currently competitive and ranked well worldwide. I send my best wishes to every player and team competing in this year's IPL. I am a Mumbai Indians fan.
I used to watch every cricket game, especially the IPL, and my favourite team is the Mumbai Indians. I never miss a game when they are playing. We are a cricket-loving nation. IPL is a festival to me, and I'm sure many people are looking forward to it. The experience of watching a live match is wonderful. Given my work schedule, I haven't been able to follow cricket or the IPL for a long time.

is India’s biggest Tyohaar. For me, it’s my time to watch my favourite team play and win, which is #KKR. And loyalty doesn't change. SRK rules. But having said that, I watch as many matches as possible. For me, it’s Cricket as I love the sport. The short format has added the required punch in today’s scenario. It’s like chatpat. The classic 5 days match is truly a delight. But somewhere losing its charm. Yet all who are cricket aficionados will always watch Test matches and ODI’.

I have always supported Punjab kings XI our home team shera di team. They never won till now but still, my heart is for them. Though I am not a big fan of cricket. I think in today's age and time of instant gratification it’s T20. Maybe in the future T10 will come. In today's age and time and the digital era, spending 5 days for a test match is something nearly impossible. And yes, I believe cricket is like a religion for India but it's overrated and there are so many sports to watch out for.

I support Chennai Super Kings as MS Dhoni is my favourite. I think every cricket format has its own charm. Test matches are always best and that is real cricket when you have been tested as a player (batsman, bowler, fielder) but the shorter format is for entertainment purposes. I always look forward to the India tour of England and Australia, especially for Test cricket.
Rahul Bhatia
Two of my favourite players are MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli so I would support RCB and CSK both teams. We all know that the original form of cricket is test matches but in today's fast pace of life, everyone has come to the short format. Movies which used to be 4 hours are now 2 hours and now we also have short films and even reels that are popular on social media. So, I think T20 is the fastest and shortest way of entertainment.
Anshuman Chaturvedi
Yes, I love to watch 20-20 cricket. It has a different form of energy and passion to it. I will be supporting Mumbai Indians because Mumbai is my Karma Bhoomi. One should not forget that any form of sport is played to keep alive the essence of sportsmanship. At the end of a match, players exchange hugs and shake hands with each other and that's called sportsmanship. With time everything evolves so is?our sports and cricket. Let's enjoy whatever is coming our way and not get stuck with any format.

IPL is undoubtedly one of the most popular cricket leagues globally, and millions of cricket enthusiasts follow it with great passion. The league has attracted some of the best cricketing talents from around the world, making it a highly competitive tournament. Regarding the traditional cricket format, it is true that Test matches and ODIs have a rich history and are still enjoyed by many cricket fans worldwide. However, shorter formats like T20s have brought a new dimension to the game and have made it more accessible to wider audiences. The IPL, being a T20 league, has contributed significantly to the popularity of this format.
