'Main Atal Hoon', starring Pankaj Tripathi as lead, received a lukewarm response at the box office on Day 1. It is the biopic on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was conferred with the country's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna. The Ravi Jadhav directorial earned only Rs 1 crore on the first day of its release as per a report in Sacnilk. It had an overall 9.39% Hindi occupancy on Friday.

'Main Atal Hoon', starring Pankaj Tripathi as lead, received a lukewarm response at the box office on Day 1. It's the biopic on former PM of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The morning shows of the 'Main Atal Hoon' had 6.11% occupancy, the afternoon shows 8.28% and the evening shows 8.28%. The night shows had a maximum occupancy rate of 14.87.
Chennai had the maximum occupancy rate at 32.67%, Hyderabad had occupancy of 22.50%, Pune saw 15%, Bengaluru witnessed 14.50%) and Jaipur 10%. Mumbai just saw 9%, Delhi NCR 8.25% and Kolkata 7.75%.
'Main Atal Hoon' is written by Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav and is produced by Bhanushali Studios Limited and Legend Studios, Vinod Bhanushali, Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan and Kamlesh Bhanushali.
As per trade experts, 'Main Atal Hoon' is a word-of-mouth movie. 'Producer and film business expert, Girish Johar had recently told Outlook India, 'We have seen films like Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway and 12th Fail did well due to word-of-mouth. So, if Main Atal Hoon is appreciated by people, it will run well but definitely it will rely on word-of-mouth''.
Earlier, while talking about his role, Tripathi told the media, "We have tried to showcase those moments of his life in the film which are not known to the public and which are not available on any public platform. I have read so much about him that I can write a book on him and it will be bigger than this film. I have seen all his interviews, read so much about him that I have understood his persona."
He also predicted that the film would earn around Rs 1-1.5 crore at the box office.
