Shilpa Shetty recently joined the Rohit Shetty cop universe. The actor will be seen with Sidharth Malhotra in the upcoming ‘Indian Police Force.’ In a recent interview, the actor revealed why she said yes to this project.

Shilpa Shetty joined hands with Rohit Shetty to feature in a cop drama. ‘Indian Police Force’ is a seven-part cop action-drama series that will feature Shilpa Shetty in a never-seen-before avatar. This role is completely different from the roles she has played on the silver screen to date. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that she said yes to this project because her son, Viaan, loves Rohit Shetty’s films. She revealed that he was excited for her role more than her.

Speaking to News18 Showsha, Shilpa Shetty revealed, “My daughter, Samisha Shetty Kundra, is too young to watch television at just three-and-a-half years old. However, Viaan, who recently began watching movies and is an ardent fan of Rohit's films, got genuinely thrilled about my portrayal as a cop in 'Indian Police Force.' I did this series for Viaan and to pay tribute to the unwavering dedication of the women in our forces, reflecting their selfless contributions.”

The actor also revealed that she received this project when she was working on ‘Sukhee.’ She mentioned that she had to juggle between the shoot deadlines of these two films and ‘India’s Got Talent.’ She revealed that she was shooting for ‘Sukhee’ in Chandigarh when Rohit Shetty urgently wanted to shoot a few scenes with her. The actor juggled her time between Chandigarh and Mumbai to fulfill these commitments.

‘Indian Police Force’ is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from January 19 onwards.
