Tollywood actor Venkatesh Daggubati made a comeback to the big screens with the Sailesh Kolanu-directed 'Saindhav.' The film released on January 13, the weekend of Sankranti, during which already other huge South films were releasing. While the film captivated his fan base, it did not garner much widespread acclaim upon release, and managed to gross only Rs. 15 crore at the box office in two weeks of its release.

Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, Telugu film 'Saindhav' is set to make its digital debut in February.
Even though the movie didn't receive a warm welcome in theaters, it is now scheduled to make its OTT debut, most likely on February 9, which is earlier than the initially expected release in mid-March. The film is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
However, the official announcement regarding the OTT release is still awaited from the makers.
In 'Saindhav,' Venkatesh took on the role of the character SaiKo, short for Saindhav Koneru. SaiKo leaves behind his hidden, dark past to become a simple family man, who wants to become a devoted father and loving husband. However, when his daughter is diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy and needs an expensive injection that's worth Rs. 17 crore, SaiKo is forced to confront his troubled past and face an old adversary, Vikas Malik (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has made his Telugu debut with this film. The rest of the cast includes, Arya portraying Manas, while Shraddha Srinath taking on the role of Manogya, Saindhav Koneru’s wife. Ruhani Sharma appears as Dr Renu and Andrea Jeremiah plays the role of Jasmine. The film also features pivotal roles by actors Jisshu Sengupta, Mukesh Rishi and Jayaprakash.
Sailesh Kolanu has taken on the role of both writer and director of the film. Meanwhile, Venkat Boyanapalli financed the project under the banner of Niharika Entertainment. The music composition was done by Santhosh Narayanan. S Manikandan handled cinematography, and Garry BH edited the movie.
Overall, the film has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.
