Vivek Agnihotri Says Prabhas’ Fans Were Trolling Him When ‘Salaar’ Was Clashing With ‘The Vaccine War’
‘The Vaccine War’ director Vivek Agnihotri also talked about his film’s upcoming clash with ‘Fukrey 3’.
Now in a recent interview, the filmmaker has opened up about how his film has been sidelined with fans trying to create differences on social media. Speaking to The New Indian Express, he talked about how some fans have extreme emotions targeted towards films, and how he believes all films should get a chance without the fans fighting and displaying online outrage.
Referring to his film’s earlier slated clash with Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’, the filmmaker said, “The Vaccine War is a small film with no stars, made at Rs 12.5 crore budget. Another film, Salaar, was coming. A huge Rs 300 crore film. Their fans were abusing, trolling me, isko bhagao, nahi aana chaiye… Bhaag koi aur gaya.. They ran away.”
While ‘Salaar’ was earlier supposed to be released on September 28, it will now release in December and will be reportedly clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’.
Hinting at SRK’s fans amid the massive success of ‘Jawan’, Vivek Agnihotri said that another ‘huge Bollywood’ film’s fans have been abusing him, and they are the ones who create differences.
“I am not saying don’t watch this and watch that,” he said, adding that no one is talking about ‘The Vaccine War’ since there has been an embargo put on social media and YouTube.
He also spoke about his film’s clash with ‘Fukrey 3’ by mentioning how he feels both films are different, and wants both films to work.
“One film released now, it’s five-six weeks old but they are still talking about that as if there’s no other film that exists. Today, all these trade journalists wrote that there is a film coming with me named Fukrey. I have no competition with it. It’s a comedy and a franchise. Both are different films, and both should work. It’s a five-day weekend and I hope Fukrey is also a superhit and The Vaccine War should also be seen,” he said.
Vivek Agnihotri signed off by saying that he is a spiritual person who believes the world is ‘maya’.?
