Skoda is looking to rejuvenate the brand in the Indian market with a strategy they call “India 2.0.” As part of that, it has now introduced Skoda Shield Plus, a new service plan that offers a 6-year warranty on its vehicles. That’s an additional two years warranty than before, or until 1.5 lakh kilometres, whichever happens first.

Skoda’s Shield Plus plan also includes extended warranty for 5th and 6th year or 1.5 lakh km (whichever earlier)
Apart from the extended warranty, Skoda also offers its 24x7 roadside assistance program for the 5th and 6th year along with the first year of comprehensive motor insurance and three years of third-party insurance coverage as part of the new Shield Plus package. All four of Skoda’s current products in India can get the benefits of this new service plan - Rapid, Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq. Existing Skoda owners with models still under the 4-year warranty plan can also upgrade to Shield Plus if they so desire.
The carmaker’s India 2.0 business plan also includes localisation of the MQB A0 platform, which will form the basis of its upcoming products in the mass market. The first of the Skoda cars based on this platform will be an SUV that will rival the Hyundai Creta. It will debut in India in 2020.

- Extended Warranty: ?KODA Shield Plus ensures a hassle-free warranty service which now spans for an additional period of the fifth and sixth year or 1,50,000 kilometres (whichever is earlier) from the date of purchase of a ?KODA vehicle.
