The home of the Mayor in the town south of Paris was attacked by the French rioters on Sunday. France has witnessed violent protesting against the police after a teenage boy was shot dead by police for trying to flee a traffic stop.
France: Rioters Attack Mayor's Home, Wife And Child Injured
The violent rioters attacked the home of a Mayor in France leaving his wife and child injured on Sunday. Reports say the police have arrested 719 rioters so far.
Some of the rioters in France allegedly rammed a car into the home of Vincent Jeanbrun and injured his wife and one of their children.
The Mayor of?L'Hay-les-Roses town took to Twitter to write about the incident. He said, "Last night, a milestone was reached in horror and ignominy."
Reports said that after ramming the car into his home it was set on fire but the attackers.
Jeanbrun further said,?"My wife and one of my children were injured." Adding to that he wrote, "It was an attempted murder of unspeakable cowardice."
This was the fifth night of the violent riots in France and the rioters have so far set cars on fire and attacked buildings and security forces in protest.
Police made 719 arrests nationwide by early Sunday after a mass security deployment aimed at quelling France's worst social upheaval in years.?
The fast-spreading crisis is posing a new challenge to President Emmanuel Macron's leadership and exposing deep-seated discontent in low-income neighbourhoods over discrimination and lack of opportunity.
