In a devastating natural disaster, torrential rains and flash floods have caused significant loss of life and property in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province. According to a senior official from the Balochistan Disaster Management Authority, 11 people have lost their lives in the province over the past week due to heavy rains and flash floods.

Balochistan, known for its security challenges posed by separatist groups and militants, has been severely impacted by the recent floods caused by incessant rainfall. The disaster has led to widespread damage, particularly in remote areas where mud houses have been destroyed. Moreover, many roads have been rendered unusable, cutting off highways from the rest of the country.

The regions worst affected by the inclement weather include Zhob, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Pashin, Dera Bugti, Qila Saifullah, Nasirabad, and Awaran. Most of these areas are situated in remote and mountainous regions, making rescue and relief operations more challenging, as reported by PTI.

The official further highlighted that heavy flooding has led to houses being washed away in some areas, such as Kharan, Warsik, Kila Saifullah, Nasirabad, and Dera Bugti, exacerbating the already dire situation.

The monsoon season in Balochistan is notorious for bringing heavy rainfall and flash floods, leading to severe damages and casualties each year. With the current calamity adding to the existing security challenges in the province, authorities face an uphill battle in managing the crisis and providing assistance to the affected communities.
