Andhra Pradesh High Court Denies TDP Chief Naidu's Bail Pleas In Three Cases

The Angallu case stems from the disturbances that occurred during a political rally led by Naidu in August, leading to injuries among policemen, TDP supporters, and members of the ruling YSRCP due to stone pelting, arson, and a riot in Angallu and Punganuru.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court made a significant decision on Monday, rejecting three bail petitions submitted by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, each associated with distinct legal cases.

Naidu's bail requests were focused on the Amaravati Inner Ring Road, Angallu attack, and FiberNet cases. The Amaravati Inner Ring Road case revolves around allegations of manipulating the master plan of the Amaravati capital city, altering the inner ring road's alignment, and favoring certain companies during Naidu's tenure, allegedly resulting in undue benefits, PTI reported.

The Angallu case stems from the disturbances that occurred during a political rally led by Naidu in August, leading to injuries among policemen, TDP supporters, and members of the ruling YSRCP due to stone pelting, arson, and a riot in Angallu and Punganuru.

In the FiberNet case, concerns were raised regarding alleged tender manipulation during the allocation of a work order under Phase-1 of the AP FiberNet Project, involving a substantial sum of Rs 330 crore awarded to a preferred company. The Crime Investigation Department claimed that irregularities spanned from the tender allocation to the project's completion, resulting in significant financial losses to the state exchequer.

Naidu is presently in judicial remand at the Rajamahendravaram central prison for his alleged involvement in misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, which is believed to have caused a purported loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state's finances.
