BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a public meeting held to mark the nine-year anniversary of the Narendra Modi government. However, Singh conspicuously avoided addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding allegations of sexual harassment made against him by top wrestlers in the country.

In his speech at the rally, Singh accused the Congress of various historical failings, including the imposition of the Emergency in 1975 and the anti-Sikh riots of 1984. Notably, he failed to mention the wrestlers' protest and the serious accusations leveled against him by athletes such as Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, and Sakshi Malik.

While the wrestlers continue to assert that Singh is using his influence to coerce them into changing their statements, they have threatened to resume their protest if swift action is not taken against him by June 15. The Delhi Police, having recorded statements from over 200 individuals related to the case, has pledged to file a chargesheet by the mentioned date, as assured by Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.

Singh's rally request in Ayodhya was denied by the district administration, prompting its postponement. However, Singh cited the ongoing police investigation into the harassment allegations as the reason behind the delay. Despite the controversy, Singh expressed gratitude to his supporters in a Facebook post, dismissing the accusations as false and concocted by his political opponents.
