On the occasion of the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad inaugurated in Chennai a dance performance curated by IAS officer, Bharatanatyam maestro Kavitha Ramu went viral, and lauded by several famous personae.?

In the performance, titled ‘Chaturangam — A Dance Depiction’ the choreography displays perfect time management, depicting chess moves through classical and folk dances and native martial arts like ‘Malyutham’ and ‘Silambam’.?

Alternatively one can see a war story where a woman, the queen, is the supreme. We witness the symbolism of the chess moves as well as the Medieval statecraft, feudal hierarchy, fight for the land and the crown, and the art of defending own territory.

The performances of Sahana as the White Queen and Priyadarshini as the Black Queen, Srinivas, and Manikandan as the White and Black Kings draw attention. The video is directed by Vijey Raj and the music is set by K. K. Senthil Prasath. Mr. Narendra Kumar choreographed about ten moves and has been a part of the video's success.
