A man died after being hit on head by a ball during a cricket match in Mumbai's Matunga?on Monday. The 52-year-old man,?Jayesh Chunnilal Savla, was fielding during a local cricket match when a ball from an adjacent match on the same ground hit him on his head.?

The incident took place on Monday afternoon on Dadkar cricket ground in Matunga area when the man, police said.

Two matches were going on simultaneously on the ground, an officer said, adding that a ball from the other match hit the back side of Savla's head while he was facing the pitch where his team was playing.

After the ball hit, Savla collapsed on the ground and fell unconscious, the official said. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, the officer added.

Savla died due to a head injury, the official said, adding an accidental death report was registered at Matunga police station. The matches were being played on the ground as part of Kutchhi Visa Oswal Vikas Legend Cup, a T20 tournament for those aged 50 and above.

In another cricket tragedy, a man in Uttar Pradesh's Noida died in between a match after he suffered a heart attack.?A camera on the ground captured the incident, showing the man collapsing in between the game.??

The deceased has been identified as Vikas Negi (36), an engineer.
