Assembly Elections 2023 Live: 'My Aim Is To Put End To Hatred In Country', Modi Needs To Be Defeated For That Purpose', Says Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi
The campaigning for Telangana assembly elections enters its final day on Tuesday as the state goes to polls on November 30. Will KCR's BRS government return to power for a third term or will Congress, BJP unseat the party that is facing a wave of anti-incumbency?
In the days leading up to the polls, the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led BRS government faced a setback after?the Election Commission on Monday withdrew permission to the Telangana government to distribute financial aid to farmers for rabi crops under the Rythu Bandhu Scheme after a state minister violated the code by going public about it. The highly-touted Rythu Bandhu Scheme was considered as one of the major reasons behind KCR's win in 2018.
Apart from dissatisfaction with existing welfare schemes for women, poor and marginalised communities, the current BRS government, which has been in power since 2014,?is also facing a wave of anti-incumbency.?The Congress party is aiming at unseating the BRS through its slew of welfare-related 'guarantees', while the BJP is hoping to make better in roads into the region after its enormous success during the civic polls in 2020.?
The results for?all five states that went to polls – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana – will be declared on December 3.?
