The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 13 locations in Jammu and Kashmir, including Budgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Srinagar, and Anantnag districts, as part of an ongoing investigation into a terror funding case.

According to the?reports by All India Radio, the raids targeted proscribed organizations, including Jamaat-e-Islami, involved in carrying out terrorist and subversive activities in the state. These activities have been carried out under different aliases at the direction of Pakistani commanders and handlers, despite Jamaat-e-Islami being declared an unlawful association

The raids were part of an ongoing investigation into a terror conspiracy case involving activities of OGWs and cadres supporting various newly launched outfits like The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir (ULFJandK), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, and PAAF. Apart from terrorist and violent activities, these cadres and workers were also involved in the collection and distribution of sticky bombs and magnetic bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotics, and arms and ammunition.

The NIA investigations revealed that Pak-based operatives were involved in the delivery of arms and ammunition, explosives, narcotics, etc., to these cadres and workers in Kashmir through drones, and social media platforms were widely used to connect with OGWs and cadres in the valley.

The NIA registered the case on June 21 last year, related to conspiracy and plans hatched by proscribed terrorist organizations physically and in cyberspace. The conspirators aimed to unleash violent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir using sticky bombs, IEDs, small arms, etc., by radicalizing local youth and mobilizing and deploying overground workers. The NIA has conducted more than 70 searches in the Union Territory this month in connection with the investigation of this case.
