After visiting the landslide-hit areas, relief camp and hospital in Wayanad, Prime Minister Narendra Narendra Modi today said "I had a conversation with CM Pinarayi Vijayan the morning when the incident took place and assured him that we will provide assistance and try to reach the spot as soon as possible. NDRF, SDRF, Army, Police, Doctors, everyone tried to help the victims at the earliest. I want to assure the families of the deceased that they are not alone. We are all standing with them...The Central Govt stand with Kerala Govt and we will ensure no work is hampered due to the lack of money.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Wayanad on Saturday to evaluate the ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations and engage with survivors of the recent landslides in the region.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and top state government officials will welcome Modi when he lands in Kannur at around 11 am, followed by an aerial inspection of the landslide-hit regions in Wayanad. Teams involved in the rescue operation will brief him about the evacuation efforts.
Modi will then chair a review meeting during which he will be briefed in detail about the incident and the ongoing relief efforts.

A mysterious sound from what locals in Edakkal area of landslides-hit Kerala's Wayanad said came from "under the earth" created panic among residents on Friday.
Residents told said heard a huge sound, accompanied by a jerk-like sensation, prompting government authorities to investigate, according to news agency PTI.
The sound was heard at around 10.15 am, according to a panchayat ward member who spoke to a TV news channel.
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) said it is examining seismic records and also attempting local reconnaissance to find if anything is anomalous.

PM Modi To Visit Wayanad LIVE: Kerala HC Dismisses PIL Against Multiple Fund Collections For Victims
The Kerala High Court on Friday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against the collection of multiple funds in the name of the recent landslides in Wayanad and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the petitioner.
A division bench comprising justices A K Jayasankaran Nambiar and V M Syam Kumar also directed the petitioner C Shukoor, who is also a lawyer, to pay the fine amount towards the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).
Considering the plea, the court said there was no public interest in the petition. The PIL said there was no monitoring over the funds being collected through various organisations in the name of the Wayanad disaster. (PTI Inputs)
