On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting to deliberate on the commencement of the fourth phase of the 'Mission Shakti' campaign, which is designed to empower women.

In consideration of the forthcoming festivals, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for robust security measures across the state, as conveyed in an official release.

He highlighted the positive societal impact of the state government's 'Mission Shakti' initiative. The upcoming phase of this campaign is slated to commence on October 14 with a bike rally aimed at raising awareness among the public regarding women's empowerment schemes offered by both the central and state governments.

The Chief Minister directed female officers who will be called 'Shakti Didi' to work in the field to disseminate information about government schemes to women. All departments associated with the 'Mission Shakti Abhiyan' are urged to conduct awareness campaigns on October 14 and 15 and subsequently initiate department-specific programs from October 16 onwards.

On X, the GOvernment of UP posted about the scheme where they wrote, "Under the guidance of Shri?@myogiadityanath ji, the fourth phase of Mission Shakti for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women and daughters will start on October 14 with a vehicle rally across the state. The Chief Minister has instructed the female beat officer 'Shakti Didi' posted in the field to go among the women and give them information about the schemes and resolve their problems on priority basis."

Adityanath called for heightened police patrolling during the festivals and continuous monitoring at the state, commissionerate, and range levels. He suggested coordinating with Durga Puja committees to ensure the strategic placement of deity idols in public parks, thus minimizing disruptions to vehicular traffic.

Furthermore, he emphasized deploying an adequate number of police personnel during idol immersion, with a strict prohibition on immersion in rivers. Adityanath insisted that the musical components of Durga Puja should adhere to prescribed decibel levels and strictly follow Supreme Court guidelines.

The Chief Minister also urged officials to expedite the remaining tasks related to the first phase of the Safe City project, which is aimed at enhancing women's safety and self-reliance.
