Pakistan women's team captain Fatima Sana has left the camp in Dubai to return home to Karachi after the passing of her father on Thursday, October 10.

Pakistan have sought to strengthen their batting lineup in the absence of their regular captain by bringing in top-order batter Sadaf Shamas.

The national anthems are underway as the players stand with their escorts, starting with Pakistan and followed by Australia.

Muneeba Ali and Sidra Amin head to the crease as Pakistan aim for their first win against Australia in any format.

Muneeba plays two more dot balls after the edge, but everyone's focus shifts to the injury of Vlaeminck, who tumbled over the rope while stopping the ball. She lies motionless in clear pain, holding her right shoulder.

After two singles off the first three balls of the spinner’s over, the left-hander goes for a slog-sweep but ends up finding midwicket inside the circle. Litchfield makes a stunning catch above her head, and the big wicket of Pakistan falls as the Australians celebrate Muneeba Ali's wicket.

There was a faint nick as the right-hander prodded forward. Megan Schutt is now the leading wicket-taker in all T20 internationals, surpassing Nida Dar. Just like that, she makes history. That concludes the fifth over.

NIDA DAR – Remember the Name. She Breaks Pakistan’s Boundary Drought After Setting a Strange Record

7.3 overs marks the longest stretch any team has gone without finding the boundary in the competition. Finally, up and over, Pakistan’s first boundary of the night comes after 8.1 overs. With a ball in the slot outside off, Nida Dar, tired of the pushing and prodding, plants her front foot and smashes it over mid-on.

Nida Dar became too predictable for the Australian bowling attack, getting stumped by a country mile. Dar bites the dust, and Pakistan sink deeper into trouble. Wareham bowls it full and wide, likely after noticing Dar advance. AND SHE IS OUT, PAK-W five wickets down.

A back-of-a-length delivery just outside off. Riaz taps it into the off side, responding to her call this time. She has to hustle, but in the end, she makes it safely despite a direct hit.

Gardner gets another. She shortens the length, possibly anticipating Tuba charging down the track. Tuba does just that and goes for a wild slog across the line, but only connects with thin air. Healy swiftly removes the bails with precision, sending Pakistan spiraling deeper into trouble.

The Pakistan batting performance was marked by struggle and hesitation throughout. The team was overly cautious during the powerplay, and that hesitance lingered even after the fielding restrictions were lifted.

None of the batters found their groove, with Wahab Riaz managing just 26 runs off 32 balls to emerge as the top scorer, aided by a couple of late boundaries. This effort resulted in one of the lowest totals recorded in the tournament thus far.

Beth Mooney perishes, giving Pakistan a brief moment to celebrate, but Ellyse Perry quickly snatches that joy away with a powerful boundary.

Marginally short and outside off, Ellyse Perry capitalizes by rocking back, snapping her wrists, and sending the ball soaring past deep midwicket.

Ellyse Perry delivers a full ball outside off, expertly guiding it past extra cover for a quick brace. However, Alyssa Healy struggles to make it back for the second run, appearing to hobble and showing signs of discomfort -- an unwelcome sight for Australia as they seek to maintain momentum. But they are nearing victory.

It was an usual run chase for Australia, with the only concern being the injury their captain sustained while running between the wickets. Before that, she had been in fine form, scoring 37 off 23 balls.

Ellyse Perry and Beth Mooney contributed significantly as well, with Ashleigh Gardner also getting some time in the middle. Australia Women secured victory by 9 wickets with 54 balls remaining.

Not only that, but it marks their 14th consecutive victory in T20 World Cup matches. Who can challenge them next? India are next.

(On the conditions) It was nice conditions, the spinner said after taking 4-21. There was a bit more bounce. Just with the way I bowl, that helps me and the little bit of spin was also handy. Clinical performance from a bowling perspective, and I was lucky enough to pick up a few wickets at the end.

(On Vlaeminck's injury) To see one of our really good mates go down like that - it is never nice to see. We are certainly feeling for her. She is in good spirits but super unfortunate for her, to get back here and for that to then happen to her.

(On her performances) I am treading in the right direction. We have a really big challenge coming up against India. They will certainly challenge me personally, have had a few good battles with them over the years. Credit to our top order who have done a fantastic job so far. We have had so much experience, we have seen Wareham come up to No.3. Our order is fluid.

We might not get too much time out in the middle at times but it is a credit to our top order (for the way they score). The class that they have - that is certainly something I wouldn't change.

At present, Australia are virtually into the semifinals by having won all matches and topping the group table. Sri Lanka are almost out of contention. Pakistan, India, and New Zealand are in a tight situation to fight for a guaranteed berth in the semifinals.

If New Zealand win both their remaining matches and India lose to Australia, then India is likely to be out. But if India win and New Zealand win both their matches, then it will depend on the net run rate because India, New Zealand, and Australia would be levelled.

India must beat Australia by at least 61 runs to surpass them on net run rate (NRR). If India achieve that exact margin, New Zealand would need to win their two remaining matches by a combined total of 96 runs to overtake Australia (assuming targets of 151 in all three games).

It was a testing day for Pakistan, and even the skipper could admit so, describing the performance "embarrassing." The champions looked unbeatable - and not without reason. Defending champions outclassed PAK in every department. There is still hope for Pakistan though, and lots of thrill left in the tournament. Till then, we'll catch you again with another live blog.
