Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan opened the batting for Punjab Kings and Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack for RCB. The first ball went for a boundary and including that boundary only seven runs came off the first over.

After the dismissal of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan have set up the batting. They batted cautiously and without losing any further wickets, they managed 50 runs in the seventh over of the match.

Glenn Maxwell got rid of Prabhsimran Singh after he hit him for a six on the leg-side. Liam Livingstone is the new batter and he has charged up against Mayank Dagar with a six. Shikhar Dhawan is nearing his half-century.

Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror held their nerves in the death overs and won the match for RCB with four wickets and as many balls to spare. With 10 runs needed in the final over, DK hit a six over cow corner and then smashed a straight four to finish the game before Arshdeep Singh gave a wide outside off.

It was a good game; we brought it back, then lost it again. We scored 10-15 runs fewer; in the first six overs, I played a little slowly. The 10-15 runs hurt us, as did the lost catch. (Turning Point) Virat hit 70 or so runs, and we paid the price by failing to capture a world-class batsman. If we had made the catch, the impetus would have come from the second ball. But we lost momentum there, and we paid the price for it. It looked fantastic, but it wasn't a real wicket; it stopped, had some double bounce, and twisted. 70% was good, 30% was doing a little. I'm pleased with my runs, although I felt I could have played faster in the opening six overs. We also lost wickets, two of them in a row, which placed us under strain. In the end, that was the score we expected on this wicket. The match went all the way to the final over, and we could have bowled a little better at the end. (On Harpreet Brar) He's bowling incredibly well, especially against left-handers; it's amazing how he soaked up the pressure and got us the breakthroughs. The Kabaddi phenomenon is quite popular in Punjab, and people really connect with the thigh-five.

On the outside but not so much on the inside (was he calm?). Early in the competition, you want to ensure that you cross the finish line. We felt we were in a position to execute it sooner. With the new regulation, we knew Mahipal was coming in, and he has a lot of authority. I'm really happy for him (DK). I mentioned it the other night that he has to start his IPL with confidence. The auction clearly indicates a plan to locate some form of DNA. It is a unique terrain. Even tonight, the pitch was somewhat different. Virat was crucial on that pitch. He's still having fun and is quite excited about playing cricket. Fresh and determined to succeed.

It's been going on for years (a love story between Chinnaswamy followers). When you play sports, people talk about a variety of topics, including achievement, metrics, and numbers. But when you look back, it's the memories you make. The love, respect, and support I've gotten has been incredible. I aim to get the team off to a flying start, but if wickets fall, you have to assess. It wasn't the normal flat pitch. I was disappointed that I could not finish the game. Was in the slot, but slashed it to a deep point. They know I play the cover drive effectively, so they won't let me hit gaps. You need to devise a strategy from time to time. I'm aware that my name is now associated with just promoting the game of T20 cricket in many areas of the world. I still have it, I suppose. For myself and my family, simply feeling normal for two months was a weird experience. I could not have been more grateful to God for the opportunity to spend time with my family.
