Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League 2024 in Chennai on Monday. After facing back-to-back losses, CSK opted to bowl first and restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to a low score of 137 for 9. In response, Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (67) scored an unbeaten half-century and led the chase while Shivam Dube slammed 28 off 18 balls to take CSK to their third victory of the season and end KKR's winning streak. Ravindra Jadeja (3/18) was the star bowler for CSK, who took wickets at regular intervals and did well to restrict the flow of runs at the Chepauk. Pacer Tushar Deshpande (3/33) also accounted for three batters while Mustafizur Rahman (2/22) picked two wickets. KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer top-scored with a 32-ball 34.
