With Amit Panghal, Nishant Dev, Nikhat Zareen, Preeti Pawar, and Jasmine Lamboria's elimination in their respective bouts, India's medal hope is held only on Lovlina Borgohain. She will face the Chinses boxer Li Quian today in the Women’s boxing 75kg quarter-final. If Borgohain who had claimed the bronze at the Tokyo Olympics manages to edge out Quian, India will book another bronze at least.

The swimmer from United States, Katie Ledecky, won her fourth consecutive (and ninth career gold) medal in 800-meter freestyle yesterday.

The first action of the ninth day of Paris Olympics kicked off at La Chapelle Arena Court 1. The reigning world champion An Se Young of Korea will battle against Indonesia's Gregoria Mariska in the semi-finals of the women's singles badminton competition.

Paris Olympics Day 9 Live: Indian Golfers In Action
Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar is traling after round 3 of the Olympics men's golf event.
Sharma shot two late birdies handing him card 1-over 72. However, he slipped to Tied-48th at 2-under for three rounds.
Bhullar shot even par 71 and was T-48th placing him in a tie for 48th position.
In the Olympic golf tournament, unlike many other tournaments, there is no cut, so all players continue to compete regardless of their scores.
Paris Olympics Day 9 Live: Indian Shooters Qualification?
In the Men’s 25m rapid fire pistol qualification (Stage 1), Anish Bhanwala, Vijayveer Sidhu from India takes part.
Sidhu is done with the 6 seconds round in Stage 1 earning 293 points after the three rounds of Stage 1.
The event takes place in four relays.

The second day of women's skeet qualification is underway and India's Maheshwari Chauhan and Raiza Dhillon are in action.

Indian athelte Parul Chaudhary finishes 8th in her heat in the Women's 3000m Steeplechase with a timing of 9:23.39. With only the top 5 athletes qualifying for final round, it marks the campaign end for Parul Chaudhary.
Both the events of Parul Chaudhary - 5000m heat and 3000m SC, now completed with 14th and 8th finishes.

Currently, on the second day of the Women's Skeet Qualification, the Indian Shooters Maheshwari and Raiza are at 6th with 96 points and 25th with 66 points respectively.

Paris Olympics Day 9 Live: IND vs GRB Hockey Update?
The hockey match between India and Great Britain so far in the first thirty minutes quarterfinal tie at the Paris Olympics have been really engaging. A red card for Amit Rohidas pushed India to 10 men right at the opening of the second quarter. However, even with one man down, skipper Harmanpreet converted a penalty corner to give India the lead. Great Britain though did not let the lead last as Lee Morton scored the equaliser soon enough. After halftime, the score is IND 1-1 GRB

All the three qualification rounds of the women's 3000m steeplechase are completed now. The defending gold medallist Chemutai of Uganda leads all qualifiers with the top time of 9:10.51.
Paris Olympics Day 9 Live: Carolina Marin Withdraws
The Spaniard Carolina Marin withdrew from the women's singles badminton event of the Paris Olympics against China's He Bingjiao. Marin was leading in the second game but unfortunately her right knee buckled she immediately collapsed to the floor. At 10-8 she gave up.
With this, He (CHN) set a meeting now face An se-Yeong (KOR) for the gold medal match.

Vijayveer Sidhu and Anish Bhanwala with scores of 293 each after the first stage are placed fifth and seventh in the men's 5m Rapid Fire Pistol Qualification.
The Second stage of the event will kick off at around 4:30 PM. Both the Indians must qualify within the top six to enter the final.

PR Sreejesh denied Phillip in the third shootout and India extended their lead.
Rajkumar Pal then converted the fourth attempt and India win the shootout 4-2.
Team India won the hockey quarterfinal against Great Britain while playing with 10 men for most of the match, and they didn’t allow a single clear shot on goal. It was an extraordinary performance! Drama- Thrill- Stellar- Victory - Never seen something like that before!

In the Men's Long Jump Qualification round, India's Jeswin Aldrin, performing his third attempt has registered a 7.61m jump, which is not enough as the cut off was 7.90 for being in the final. That is a disappointment for the Indian, he finished 26th overall.

So, India's lone warrior in Badminton, Lakshya Sen lost his battle to Denmark’s defending Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen 20-22, 14-21 in the men’s singles semifinal today afternoon. Lakshya will face Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia in the bronze medal match on Monday, while Axelsen will take on Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand in the final.
Paris Olympics Day 9 Live: Indian 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Shooters Doing Well
In the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol qualifying event, India's Vijayveer Sidhu and Anish Bhanwala are currently placed fifth and seventh respectively after the first stage with a score of 293 each (14 inner 10s as against 11 inner 10s). The top six shooters will advance to the final.

Indian sailor Vishnu Saravanan is in action in race 8 of the men's dinghy competition at the Paris Olympics today. He finished seventh in race 7 of the same event, rising from 23rd to 14th place.
To qualify for the medal race, Saravana must qualify in the top 10 boats from the opening series.

Kim Woojin of Korea narrowly defeated the USA's Brady Ellison in a close men's individual archery final to claim gold. This victory marks his third gold medal of Paris 2024, making him the first archer to win five gold medals in the history of the Games.

Former Olympic champion Carolina Marin was forced to withdraw from her badminton semi-final on Sunday in a heart-wrenching scene after suffering a serious knee injury. Overwhelmed by emotion, Marin broke down in tears as she was forced to retire from the match.
