Team India roared back in the T20I series after producing a stellar performance in the fourth T20I against West Indies in Lauderhill on Saturday. Chasing a 179-run target, Indian openers Shubman Gill (77) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (84*) put up a 165-run partnership that saw the visitors seal the game in their favour. Earlier, Arshdeep Singh (3/38) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/26) were the pick of the Indian bowlers as Pandya's boys kept West Indies under 200. (More Cricket news)
Skipper Hardik Pandya Sends Strong Message To India Batters Despite Nine-wicket Win In 4th T20I
Hardik Pandya sent out a message to India batters after his side registered a nine-wicket victory over West Indies on Saturday.
Despite the victory, skipper Hardik Pandya, was all praise for the star opening duo but also provided a stern warning to his rest of the batters. Team India's performance in the 1st and 2nd T20I wasn't great with the bat and Pandya was in no mood to forget that just yet.
Hardik said the batting unit must share greater responsibility going forward. "Gill and Jaiswal were brilliant. There is no doubt over their skillset. They just needed to spend some time between the wickets.
"Going forward we have to take more responsibility as a batting group and support the bowlers. I've always believed bowlers win matches," said Pandya after the match," said the skipper.
He also praised his side's grit that allowed them to make a comeback in the T20I series.
"We lost two games but in the first game it was our own errors. We were cruising and in the last four overs we slipped. We spoke about how these kinds of games show our character.
"The boys took it (defeats) in their stride. The two games (after the first two defeats) we played reflected that we pulled up our socks and played some good cricket,” he added.
The fifth and final T20I will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
