ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 - Schedule

10 teams are taking part in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 that was originally scheduled to be held in Bangladesh but is now being hosted by the United Arab Emirates. The biggest event in women's T20 cricket began on October 3 and will go on till October 20 when the final takes place in Dubai.

The 10 teams participating in the event are: India, Australia, England, Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Scotland. The ten teams have been divided into two groups of five where every team will play the other four teams once. The top two from both the groups will qualify for the semifinal. The winner of the two semifinals will then face off in the title contest.

A total of 23 matches will be played in the tournament with Sharjah and Dubai hosting all the matches.

The qualification process for the 10 teams was confirmed in April 2022. Bangladesh got an automatic ticket to the event by being the hosts. The top six of the 2023 edition also got direct entries. These six teams were: Australia, England, West Indies, India, South Africa and New Zealand. Pakistan got their berth confirmed by virtue of their ICC ranking.

The remaining two sides, Sri Lanka and Scotland, got into the women's T20 World Cup through qualifiers. Compared to the 2023 edition, there was just one change in teams -- with Scotland replacing Ireland.
